Painted in Mum’s backyard during the week after her funeral. I spent quiet days in the autumn sunshine, painting and reflecting—often on the phone with my brothers.
This work grew from a space of grief, memory, and connection. Inspired by the way Maya Irving expresses emotion through her art, I aimed to paint not just what I saw, but what I felt.
